Eligibility

Boys and girls U8 through U19 are eligible to try out for Strikers teams.

Players that are rostered on a Strikers FC team during the Fall season will be required to fulfill a volunteer position during the Pend Oreille Cup Tournament presented by Strikers FC.

Note: High School players play as Strikers when their High School season is over.

Tryouts

Tryouts are held in May each year. For the next Striker tryout date and details click here.

Payment will be required upon accepting the invitation after tryouts. There will be the option to pay in full or pay in installments. See information on fees below.

Dates

League schedules get released on a seasonal basis. For Fall it typically comes out mid-end of August with games starting up the second weekend of Sept and running through Oct.. For Spring it is typically released mid-March with games starting up after Spring break and running through Memorial Day.

Fall practices begin the first week in August.

Spring practices begin the first week of March. Start dates may be spring weather dependent, and you will be notified of any changes.

Teams

Depending on the age group and how many players are playing on the field for that age group there may be more than one team. That will be decided after tryouts. If there are two teams for an age group,  that group still practices and trains together as one group.

Fees

Our fees vary by age group and have not been solidified for the 2024-2025 season as of yet.

Our fees are the lowest for any clubs in our area and we aim to keep it that way to make it as affordable as possible for our families.

Tournaments are extra as the fees vary by the tournament and the age group as well as how many are in attendance. Tournament fees get paid for by the manager of the teams and they seek reimbursement by allocating the fees evenly amongst the team.

On average a player could look to pay anywhere from $30-$75 per tournament, sometimes this is lower if the fee was lower or more players are attending.

Some teams opt to put together a fundraiser to raise tournament funds so it's less of a burden on the families.

Practice

Strikers participate in 2 weekday practices with the option for an additional goalkeeper training for goalkeepers at no additional cost.

Games

Games are typically held on Saturdays. League play typically consists of a 6-8 game season. Typically the Fall season our teams play 8 league games whereas our Spring season we play 6 league games.

Tournaments

The mandatory tournaments are 2-4 per year (fall and spring in total), however the coach per age group may want to go to some optional tournaments and will make it happen based on who all can attend from the team. No one should feel obligated to attend these optional tournaments.

Some tournaments require an overnight stay. The tournaments we have travelled to that would require an overnight stay are Kalispell and Whitefish. The optional tournaments may require overnight stays in Nelson, BC, Missoula, etc. We have two to three local tournaments that don't require overnight stay. Locations of Spokane and Coeur d'Alene as well as our home tournament here in Sandpoint.

Travel

Games and tournaments are mostly held in Sandpoint, Coeur d’Alene, and Spokane. Depending on age group, one trip to Lewiston, ID may be scheduled and carpooling is often available. Some tournaments require an overnight stay. The tournaments we have travelled to that would require an overnight stay are Kalispell and Whitefish, or other optional tournaments.
