"All of my children are new to competitive travel soccer. Prior to soccer they had tried many other sports. Now that they had decided to stick with soccer, the first season was like jumping in the deep end, although they worked really hard. They lacked technical ability, the kind of skill that comes with years of playing, like touch, passing, trapping, basic skills. We decided to enroll in both indoor soccer sessions over this past winter even though we had a busy fall from soccer. We were very pleasantly surprised at how far their skills improved over this winter. Going into the spring travel season, the player has a lot more confidence in their ability, has found a joy for the game, and really wants to play all the time. I really doubt this would be the case if we decided to skip playing all winter.
